Network Devices: NAS & Firewalls

FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmail
Description
Two components we must explore are NAS and Firewalls. NAS is a network attached storage; it’s literally a self-configuring device containing hard drives that serves as additional storage for devices on the network that may want an additional location for data storage. NAS also has RAID capabilities, so we’ll discuss all the possible uses and reason a NAS device may be used. Firewalls are both hardware devices and software tools that serve a both guard and buffer between public and private resources which use filters and rules to determine how access entry/exit permission and access rights to each type of resource there is within a network environment.
