Laser Printer Maintenance: Toner Replacement & Maintenance Kits

In today’s lesson, we explore performing printer maintenance.  The first thing is to break down each printer device as they all have differing needs.

The first is Laser printer, it uses a printer toner or toners if a color printer and typically provides an indicator when the toner gets low and you’ll see the image quality fade.  The replacement cartridges typically slide in/out and for the most part are only oriented for one direction; this prevents installing it incorrectly.

Maintenance kits include feeding rollers, fusing assembly, separator pads are all replaceable parts for which an indicator will alert for replacement.  A key part of this process is resetting the printer counter after swapping out kit parts, and how to handle the parts as they are removed and replaced with new ones.
