Installing & Configuring Printers (part 1)

Today we’re going to discuss installing and configuring printers.  That process is facilitated by what we call a driver, a piece of software which provides the computer information and compatibility resources to recognize and utilize hardware and other devices added on the computer.

Print drivers come with the machine or can be downloaded from the OEM site.  One of the consideration for driver installation include make and model of the device, the OS it will operate in, whether it’s a 32 or 64 bit, and if any updates are require prior to or after installation.

We’ll discuss how to install, demonstrate how to share over a network, as well as how the connectivity actually happens between the printer and the computing system.
