Installing & Configuring Operating Systems (part 3)

Installing and Configuring Operating Systems (part3) Now that you’ve learned about installation types and the various processes you can use, we introduce you to performing installations and computers that don’t require a complete installation of the operating system. Let’s say you have a computer and you want to perform a general upgrade of the existing operating system to one that’s more current or change from one type of OS to another - think going from 32 bit to 64 bit. There are several system setups, administrative procedures and other tasks that must be planned and executed in order to accomplish this type of installation transition successfully.  There may also be a change in hardware configuration required to meet the minimum requirements. From this lesson, you’ll learn what all the factors are, how to plan and execute them in order to address upgrade and other types of installation services when you want to retain data and other files that do not require a clean and complete installation of the operating system.
