Description
In this personal safety lesson we discuss CRT monitors and the reason is that CRTs have very high voltage which continues to be high and traveling even when unplugged. So handling CRTs requires specific, specialized training and repairs on broken CRTs should NOT be attempted by just anyone. Our last topic is cable management, and that entails how they are handles.  The importance of neatly stringing and laying out cables eliminates safety hazards, make daily practices easy and efficient, and assures trouble shooting tasks can be performed in a timely and thorough manner. Part of thorough cable management includes using the correct length for the application intended, using ties, loops and bracings to organize and structure the path between the cable and the device or devices they are serving.  Having cables appropriately bundled and using rubberized floor covers for instances when cabling must be feed and exposed across the floor (walking surface) is also an essential to assuring the safety of yourself and others.
