This module is a basic discussion and overview of forensic image files.  From this module, you’ll learn everything you could ever possibly wanted learn about images.  For example, you’ll learn why some images remain true as they scale up and why some become grainy.

Then we explore image or imaging terminology and the differences between them as a category.  You’ll learn how many different types of images there are, what their purposes are how/if/when those types may overlap.

We discuss in detail compression and what happens to the image during that process.  And we’ll discuss imaging tools in great details, how to use them, how they manipulate the actual image.

Then you’ll learn about image recovery and what’s involved, how those software tools vary, and what to look in the image header and why hex is important to the process of image recovery.
