so welcome to model to on and in this module I will be talking about entering, dating Excel
and I will be giving you some basic ideas about how it sell works and what Excel is.
So, first of all,
Excel is a part off spreadsheet, family of programs
and spread sheet is very old term in in 19 computing it.
One of the first programs that was doing things similar to Excel was called like that. Then came Lotus 123 And after that, Microsoft Excel
after some time became basically in an industrial standard,
and there are other programs on the market that do the same thing. But everybody's basically looking up to excel, and
capabilities to create
their own self tour.
Axel is created to create, to manipulate in America and in textual data.
Mm. And it does it by using functions and for actually the user off Excel manipulates numerical and actual data by using functions and formulas and scripts, meaning Micro's
to do the manipulation of data.
Um, and also excel can be used to do look up into data. So if you have aggregated data that you have collected from, I don't know, some sales or some market research. Excel can help you
extract the information you want in the form that is understandable to you or your colleagues or wherever you want to present it to.
So it can do very complex calculations it can do called conditional calculations.
And this is what Excel is created. For
now, like every Microsoft Office program and Excel is part of Microsoft Office package, Excel has tendered IEDs. User interface, so excels. Consists off quick, quick access tool bar, which is in the top left off the XL window.
Ah, then, huh?
The next thing is Ribble, and this is basically where most of the commands in Excel that you're going to use our
some advanced uses. The XL also can use some shortcuts. But for most of the things you will
on a regular basis, use commends that they're located in the ribbon and ribbon consists off the tabs. And between each stab, you have groups off functions. These things can be customized. But this is a subject for more advanced.
Yeah, of course.
So next thing in excel user interfaces, Formula Bar eight sixed self uh, the left there is a window in which field is shown, and then you have the formula bar here.
Next thing is the work space in which you enter data and formulas functions and Malik manipulate data.
And then in the bottom, you have status bar, which cannon contains also things like sheets or tabs
within worksheets are within the within excel file. There could be quite a lot of them. So you have navigations through that.
And, uh, at the end, you have task pains, which are basically the parts that pop up onto the right off your excel window, in which you have additional
capabilities to manipulate objects that you're working in an excel. It can be if you have in certain some object,
or if you're using some things like, for example, people tables, which we're going to talk about almost very end of this course.
So when you do something that requires temporarily some some manipulation or parents, permit is to be set
that they're not part of the ribbon and you're doing that, then, ah, task pane pops up.
Well, it's now switch to excel just to see how these things look in Excel window. I have ah Of course,
maximize this window to cover the entire screen. And if you click in any cell here you see in this bar here that the coordinates are the address of the cell changes
and ah, you have there is this quick Texas toolbar. And then this is the ribbon, and this is, ah, work space. And this is
how you enter data. So you click on the cell
and you basically just enter, for example, a number,
and then again, some other number.
And then if you want to enter formula, you click in the cell you press equals, and then you enter your formal formula. In this case, it's going to be sorry.
It's going to be something like a simple as this. So this is how you do
how you enter data in Excel.
