Home Server PC

Description
Many homes and small offices have developed a network of computers in order to compete with small enterprises. Some of the common roles of home servers include media streaming, file sharing, and print sharing. One of the first considerations to make for the home sever PC is media streaming which will allow connection to steamed videos, movies, etc. that are stored and presented at the server level. So you want to enable Playback, and assure Windows Media Player is enabled.  For File sharing we must enable and allow red/writer permissions, as well as attached and configure all the printers for shared use. The configuration includes a Gigabit NIC if not, you’ll need to purchase and install.  The GigNic will assure fast data transfer and facilitate thorough media streaming. Other considerations include RAID which is a must for redundancy more so than speed, and we’ll diagram the RAID array so demonstrate the proper setup and configuration for home server use.
