External Connection Devices

Just like motherboards, external storage connection types on those motherboards vary endlessly from motherboard, expansion card, and computer type to another.

There are many different ways in which external storage devices can connect to computers. Series and Printer ports, Ethernet connections, eSATA, Firewire, and USB  or universal serial bus which is actually a connector on the end of the device.

There are many different storage device types that utilize these connection types and they transmit data differently and at differing speeds.

Not only will we demonstrate USB, eSATA, Ethernet, and Firewire, the connection types you need to know and understand, but also the types of devices they connect and examine their speeds, capabilities and any limitations they bring.
