CRT Screen Size, Aspect Ratio & Resolution

As we continue with our discussion on CRT screens, we need to examine the importance of screen size. CRT devices come in many different sizes. The larger the screen, the larger the tube and the larger the weight. Each different size computer comes with a standard set of resolutions that it supports. Part of the CRT screen size is its plastic casing which actually is a distortion of its actual size because of the space the boarder takes.  Its screen size and its viewable size are not the same. So when considering the size of a CRT screen and its importance, we’ll explain and demonstrate why it’s necessary to focus on the “corner-to-corner” viewing area as an accurate measure of what can be displayed by a CRT device, how to calculate/measure a CRTs Aspect Ratio, and whether or not it auto-adjust its resolution or if can be manually adjusted to a higher rate than the default configuration.
