When we talk about CPUs we often use the term "Core" now let's examine what we are taking about on the motherboard and how that varies. From the demonstration, you'll learn that the "core" is the location on the motherboard where the CPU socket is placed. You'll learn how multiple CPU sockets facilitates greater speeds, what causes signal to degrades between more than socket on a given motherboard. We'll contrast how multi-core processing works and we'll diagram them to show how signal degradation is eliminated. Then we'll examine Hyperthreading and demonstrates how it uses the CPU, BIOS and the OS to share the workload as if multiple cores and how Intel takes Hyperthreading and marries with clock speed to maximize processing effort and if this is efficient for all computing tasks.
