This is less than 9.1 custom PC configuration.
Select and configure appropriate components for a custom PC configuration.
And this lesson we're gonna take a different approach. We're going to look at different custom configurations for PCs now for the county A plus 2 to 0 dash ones. Is there one you're gonna need to know what components to use and select based on ah given set of requirements.
And you're gonna need to know that in real life as a technician, you need to know how to configure a certain
PC configuration based on the customer's request. So let's go and get started. We're gonna look at different configurations and talk about their needs. Were gonna look at a graphic cat or cam design station on audio video work station
virtualization works same station, a gaming PC building network attack storage device. And we're gonna talk about thick versus thin clients. So let's go ahead and get started.
Graphic cat or cam designed workstation General. You'll see. These are computer aided design computers. See a D for computer aided manufacturing or cam.
what you would need to do to build a system for this requirement is SSD hearts drives for high speed storage, fast, high speed storage. You're dealing with big and huge image files here, and you're gonna do a lot of reading, writing back and forth. So what we've learned before in our previous lessons,
if you need that type of storage SS, these would be your choice.
High performance video, large, detailed graphics. That's what you're gonna be working with. So again, based on what we've learned in previous lessons, you want a high performance video card.
Maximum ram. Ah, hi Memory. You see you when you're dealing with images when you're pulling those images and you're working with them if you remember back from earlier lessons where those images stored
in the ram that's right stored in the ram. So you need a lot of RAM to deal with those large, heavy images that you're gonna be working with. So for a graphic, can't cam designed workstation these other components that you need to look for and make key decisions and building that Sichuan Net configuration
audio video editing work station. Now let's step there some of the components that you need for a type of workstation here because you're going to be dealing with large video and audio fouls, and you're gonna be playing at audio back and playing the video back. So let's look at some of the things that you'll need.
Specialized audio and video cards, high quality video again. Graphic car. Separate graphic card or high performing graphic card. Large capacity. Fast, right hard drive. You're dealing with a lot of files here. Video files and audio files. You're making changes, read and write.
So again, what type of hard drive would that be? Good
for that type of our town? Of particular task will be the solid state, says these. You're gonna be constantly writing back to those disks
dual monitors for easy viewing and ended on one monitor and view on the other one. So for an audio video editing workstation, these were some of the components that you need to make to make a selection for that type of work station.
Virtualization Workstations. Now what virtualization Dealing with the ah computer that's hosting multiple voter computers, you'll need a work station that is heavy on the ram. It's maximizing the ram for that PC. Each virtual workstation needs its own memory.
So after what that being said,
if you're going to build a work station is gonna host over close to T and R eight virtual machines. You need to take an account the memory that each of those virtual machines were used. They are virtually yes, they use real memories. So you have to add that calculation into the host computer to make sure you have enough memory for the computers use.
Maximize the CPU
for virtual workstations. It's a constant processing going on that CPU is constantly processing all that information on those virtual work machines. Because not only do you have the host machine that the CPI was working for its working for that six, or that a virtual machines as well and there
in part using the CPU of the host machine
so constant processing on the CPU on the CPU needs to be power and process efficient. So it needs to be, ah, good, strong working processor, inefficient. Also, virtualization uses multiple course. So when you're looking at your CPU,
you want to look and find something with multiple course
gaming PCs. First thing you want to think about is your hard drive. The SSD low times air critical on loading the images, loading the files for those games. High performance and high quality video were specialized graphics processing unit Ah GPU
High definition Sound card grab. The games are varying tous if they have a lot of sounds in in music and so forth. So you want to use multiple layers or even it's over own sound system.
Something else you want to consider his heart performance cooling. The CPU is gonna be processing a lot of data lot of information for long periods of time. So you want to probably look at some high performing cooling water, cooling system,
network attached stores, devices or whole Media server A. Nass. That's what a network attached stores devices so you can access your files from local remote. I'm gonna think about media streaming on the streaming media from this device. Also file sharing. So it's gonna be multiple rites, access and rights and so forth.
With all that traffic, you need to think about the Nick card on the network interface card
Ah, gigabit nick for high traffic and high speed transfers and also with all the media and all the information at your store in on this network attached storage device. You want to look at raid redundant hard drives in depending on what Ray do you want to go with, but you need some type of reliability for those hard drives.
In case of situation happens
and a hard drive fail, your data is not lost.
Standard Vic Client versus A Thin Client,
a regular PC were Desktop is is traditionally called a thick client that is a just a regular work station that may be used for in a business or home workstation. It's gonna be running desktop after couch applications. Programs installed locally are on that work station,
CPU and memories used locally on that system,
it must meet recommended requirements Taken account the CPU, the ram of the dis space. You may have a client or a customer that needs ah machine for in accounting office, and they give you
the application and software they're going to be using. So based on information, you want to find a standard decline or desk tucked top or workstation that would fit their needs.
So again, a traditional workstation is called a thick client.
On the other hand, a thin client is a minimized, smaller client where it's all its processing as working on a server off a remote server. The work station or the thin client may just be using some or smaller resource is,
but the main applications are were used to work off of a server.
US. Some see this a lot in a VD I or virtual desktop interface. So again, basic applications applications. Ramona run on a world remote server or remote location so you still use the local devices, such as a keyboard mouse. But all the application would be on a server
minimum operating system on the client.
No large CPR memory needs just the bare minimums. Network connectivity. There's a lot of information being passed from that thing. Climbed back to the remote server wherever that is. So you want to make sure that your network is
is really capable of handling all that traffic gigabit network. It is network intensive. When you're using up, then client
again. Then client is a pared down system versus a big client, a thin client. All the heavy lifting and remote work is done on a server,
so custom configurations for a work station. We looked at graphic cat and cam design work stations, audio video editing, work stations, virtualization, workstations, gaming PCs, network tech storage device and standard thick client versus that then client.
So these are different configurations that you need to know and understand in real life, when you're in the field, as well as for the company of a plus, because the county a A plus will ask you questions along these lines. So that is it for this lesson, and we will see you in the next lesson.
