the next element we're gonna mention for protecting data is something called a DLP data loss prevention systems. Usually how I hear refer to you could also hear data leakage. The goal here is to protect from ex filtration of data
00:15
data leaving the network data getting exported, getting transferred to a different location. Data being printed,
00:23
um, perhaps even being copied. The idea is certain types of it. The particularly sensitive information have specific formats. Social Security numbers followed the same format. Credit card numbers followed the same format. So these DLP systems are tuned to examine
00:41
this particular type of gabba
00:43
and how it's it's being moved around the network and a lot of frameworks and a lot of regulations require that organizations have DLP systems in place.
00:54
Now,
00:56
if you look at some of the major breaches we've had, where millions of credit card numbers are ex feel traded off the network or, um,
01:04
you know, just that you kind of wonder. Well, how does that DLP system fit in? Well, many kinds, it's miss configured. Many kinds theologians are configured improperly. Sometimes they're so many alerts that you can't find the actual violations within 5000 other entries.
01:25
It's not enoughto have the systems.
01:27
The systems have to be configured properly. They have to be watched, have to be audited.
