There's a variety of different Internet connection types that you, as a technician would need to know about. You may come across these as helping a customer decide what connection is best for them,
or they may be limited to one connection or the other. So
let's talk about these different connection types. And again, these are connection types that you will see on the county. A plus cable, Internet
cable, Internet provides broadband Internet at a multiple frequencies. We've learned earlier about the cable modems, and this is a doc CIS Technology data over cable service Internet specifications Multiple service's are provided over cable data, voice and video
heist. This is a high speed connection, with
speeds ranging from four megabits up to 250 megabits. Is the normals package speeds that you'll see with cable Internet service. Now there are gigabits speeds that are available as well.
D S. L. D s L is another Internet service that we have talked about previous lessons that you may be familiar with D S. L is asymmetrical digital subscriber line in the true name is a D A sale.

Distance limitation is between 8000 to 30,000 feet from the phone company Search, Central office or the CEO so that pose some limitations in certain geographical locations, depending on how close you are to the central office.
Speeds of up to 50 52 megabits with a download and an upload speed of 16 megabits and again speeds will vary depending on your location. Another Internet service that you don't see that much of nowadays is dial up
dialogue works on Anna analog phone lines and its speed limitations or speed ceiling. Rather
was 56 kilobits a second, and that today that seems very, very slow. But back when that was the primary connection, it was very useful at that time. No broadband, very slow connection compared to species nowadays. Traditionally, you would use these for Internet connection.
They would awful be used for
connections with industrial equipment and hardware. Nowadays, they still are used in some businesses as a backup system. When Internet connection goes down, a modem would be used to connect locations together for various reasons or passing information.
Fiber or fiber optics.
Fiber optics to the businesses have been true traditional in our past, but now we're started. See fiber optics to the home, which is f t th as more media service is air being offered, you're getting Maur Service's than just Internet. You're getting data voice and video over fiber optics to the home

You get high definition media channels, and voice service is so fiber optics to the home. A cZ well as to the business is another option for Internet service. Satellite Internet Satellite Internet is another Internet type connection.
Usually you would find a satellite Internet. In areas where there is no traditional service is available, like a D S A. Or cable modems

Also, considerations for satellite Internet, then drawbacks would be rain fade in los on line of sight a lot of times during heavy thunderstorm. If you're familiar with your satellite TV going out or fading during heavy thunderstorms, the same thing will apply here with your satellite Internet
and also its line of sight.
That satellite that's connected to your home beaming up to that satellite bringing you Internet down has to have clear line of sight to the sky.
Traditionally, you'll see speeds of 50 megabit download and three megabits uploads. I asked. The N I. S Dean is another service that we don't see that much off, but they are still around eyes. The N stands for integrated service is digital rate.
There are two types of eyes. Deion's, the B R I and the pure eyes.
Basic Ray interface. Or, to be plus D to 64. Kill a bit bearer be channels and 1 16 bit signaling D channel in the B r. I
appear I premiere rate interface to be plus de delivered over t one or E one. Um, Dan again, that depends on where you're getting your service from. A T One is 23 B channels plus one D channel in the E one was 30 be channels in a DIY channel and an alarm.
Now the Pier I was generally connected to a p b x from a p S t n network for

Other flavors of line of sight Internet consists of wireless Internet service providers are whisp, and they provide Internet service over the frequencies off 2.4 gigahertz as what? It's five gigahertz.
All right, So today's lesson. We talked about different Internet connection types. And again, these are different Internet connection types that you need to know for the county A plus and, as again in the real world, as a technician helping a customer decide what type of Internet connection, maybe their best option.
