Given the size and complexity of today’s systems, teams of architects, analysts, programmers, testers and users must collaborate to create the exhaustive, explicit, custom-written code that drive our enterprises. To handle this with efficiency, several system development life cycle (SDLC) models have been developed, such as waterfall, fountain, spiral, build and fix, rapid prototyping, incremental, and synchronize and stabilize. The best known and long-standing model is the waterfall: a series of stages in which the output of each stage becomes the input for the next.
