NotepadCommunications Protocols:

1) User Data gram Protocol(UDP)

-Sending one by one as a flow data packets

-packets has a header 8 bytes

-error checking

-if connections drop the current packets wont be resend

-connectionless

-Streaming

-send in chunks(logical chunks)

 


NotepadCommunications Protocols: TCP

1) TCP-Transmission Control Protocol

-header=20 bytes

-Connection Oriented(Send one by one and verified and if its ok the received will confirm its ok)

-error checking

-you have to resend if its corrupted or has errors

-Three way handshake(TCP wont send package until handshake)

-packets stream

1) FTP-Port default 21(File Transfer Protocol)——->TCP

-unsecured

-use for TCP because you want to get those files without corruption or errors)

-You can use programs to change ports

-file transfer with minimal overhead

 

2)TFPT-Port Default 69(Trivial File Transfer Protocol)–> UDP

 

3)SFTP-Port default 22(we cant change)(Secured File Transfer Protocol)–>TCP

-secured/encryption

-error checking

-SSH Encryption

1) Telnet-23->UDP/TCP

-remote terminal connection

-nonencrypted

-unsecured

 

2)SMTP-25->TCP(Emails/Email files)(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

3) POP 3-110-TCP(Post Office Protocol 3)

-we dontsend emails we just download from servers

-we download from server to client(computer)

-can be configured to keep files on bot server>>client 

4)IMAP-143-TCP(Internet Message Access Protocol )

-SERVER-CLIENT download the message and keep the copy on the server

-its more robust then POP 3

-more features

-more usefull

1) DNS-53-TCP/UDP(Domain Name System)

-translated domain  name address to IP

2) HTTP(Hypertext Transfer Protocol)-80-TCP

-Computer browsers are talking with web servers

-send/receive information 

-get command

-clear text

-can be seen by everyone from internet(wire shark) if you are using 80 port

3)HTTPS-443-TCP(Secured)

-secured

-use keys

-encryption

-even if its encrypted you can send information to third parties

-remote assistance
