    Hi everyone!,

    I just try to install Kali Linux and running on my virtualbox VM but, when i press the INSTALL button on the kali interface only a black window appear. I saw a lot o tutorials about how to run kali but any of them helped me. Also I try to change the OS in the virtual machine setting from debian to linux.
    I found an error that could make this bug in my attemps of running Kali. The connection doesn’t work. I tried changing from NAT to all other net configurations, but I can’t connet the VM to the network.

    Best regards and thanks in advance!

    When you first start up the machine, you might try not pressing any buttons until you get to the login screen. When I start up a Kali VM, it shows an install menu, but if you leave it alone, it continues to the login screen.

    Hopefully this helps.

    @therapture Thanks for that!
    I tried but it didn’t work, also i think it should be installed before the login screen appears. But I have not even could install it because that proble. I tried to let the black screen stay for an hour and anything happened. And in the task manager shows use of CPU, meaning the program is running..

    @pspa I would try a different VM and see if maybe its an issue with the one you have.
    Here is a link to the download page on OffSec’s site, In case you somehow got it from a different source.

    Compare hash value of your downloaded VM iso against iso hash mentioned in the website to check whether the downloaded VM is completely downloaded or have any errors. Update your Virtualbox and if you are still unable to install Kali iso, download VM files directly from their website.

    or you can also use alternative hypervisor like VMware player (free) or VMware Workstation (best but paid).

    If you can tell more about bug you have encountered, i can try to help you in a much better way.

    @therapture, thanks, I would try what @lalit said and check hash value. But also I will download VMware player and try again.
