This video is an interview with Michael Rothman about what he sees in the future as far as security threats go. Rothman acknowledges that with all the threat today, most organizations agree that it is very hard to prevent every attack so for this reason, companies need to have the method to repair damage after an incident compromises their data and then try to lengthen the time between attacks as well as how to remediate. Also discussed in the issue of employees using their own devices to work, which can really compromise sensitive company information. Sharing data is starting to become a standardized process. Companies are starting to really analyze the threats and malware that attack them and then inform others to increase knowledge and increase methods of protecting information. Attackers are becoming more savvy and using increasingly strong methods to extract data and attack organizations, so the defensive and monitoring technology really needs to get better. Rothman feels the methods of detection have been very slow relative to how advanced attackers are becoming. It is important to take action and not just rely on security staff to monitor threats.
