The IT Pro Challenge virtual lab Provision, an Azure SQL Server Database, guides the student through setting up an SQL Server and Database using the Azure web portal. This will include setting up the server and database, importing data, and verifying connectivity.
This guided lab is appropriate for beginning students. Students should be familiar with the Azure web portal and have a general understanding of what an SQL database is. Once completed, the student will be able to provision a SQL Server Database in Azure. The lab will take about 45 minutes to complete if you are unfamiliar with how to provision resources in Azure. The lab helps develop knowledge of system administration concepts for operating systems, which is important for Cyber Defense Forensics Analysts, Cyber Operators, Exploitation Analysts, Technical Support Specialists, and Vulnerability Assessment Analysts. You will also develop knowledge of database systems, which is part of the Cyber Defense Analyst, Enterprise Architect, Information Systems Security Developer, Security Architect, Security Control Assessor, Systems Developer, and Systems Security Analyst work roles. The tasks completed in this lab develop fundamental skills related to provisioning resources in Azure. This will benefit many career paths in information technology.
