Configure Segments, NSX Gateways, and Edge Nodes

Act as a VMware NSX® administrator to set up network connectivity between various networks in the environment using VMware NSX management and vSphere to manage ESXi and KVM hosts. You will create uplink segments, create Tier-1 and Tier-0 gateways, and confirm the functionality of what you've created.

Overview

In this Challenge Lab, you will create uplink segments. First, you will confirm that there is no connectivity between the East-West and North-South networks. Next, you will create two uplink segments for traffic to flow between the Tier-1 and Tier-0 gateways, and then you will create a Tier-0 gateway and connect it to the existing Tier-1 Gateway. Finally, you will test connectivity to confirm the functionality of the Tier-0 Gateway.

You will be using a VMware NSX management appliance named NSXMGR-01.hexelo.com. You will be using a vSphere vCenter server that contains five ESXi hosts in two clusters. You will be using five virtual machines that have already been created. Three virtual machines are running in the vSphere cluster, and the other two are running on stand alone KVM hosts.
