The Working with IPSec module provides you with the instructions and devices to develop your hands-on skills in the following topics:
- Managing IPSec negotiation policies
- Working with security association rules in Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
Lab time: It will take approximately 35 minutes to complete this lab.
The following objective is covered in this lab:
Exercise 1 - Managing IPSec Negotiation Policies
Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) is a set of protocols developed to protect the data packets sent and received over the networks. IPSec provides protection against data theft and corruption on a network.
In this exercise, you will create a new IPSec policy and take a backup of the preconfigured IPSec policies.
Exercise 2 - Working with Security Association Rules in Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
Windows Firewall with Advanced Security provides protection from harmful attacks in a network. It inspects and filters all the incoming and outgoing data packets. It uses two sets of rules such as firewall rules and connection security rules to monitor the network traffic. Firewall rules determine which traffic needs to be allowed or blocked. Connection security rules determine the security of the data between the computers in a network.
In this exercise, you will configure a connection security rule in Windows Firewall with Advanced Security on PLABDC01 and PLABWIN10.
