Exercise 1 - Install and Configure VPN Service

Windows Server 2012 includes the Routing and Remote Access Services (RRAS) network service. RRAS supports remote user or site-to-site connectivity by implementing virtual private networks (VPN) or dial-up connections.

In this exercise, you will install RRAS on a Windows Server 2012 device and then set up a Windows 10 workstation as a VPN client that will dial-in to RRAS.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this exercise, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate how to enable virtual private network (VPN)

Exercise 2 - Configure Windows VPN Client

All Windows workstations have the capability to dial-in to a VPN server using its native VPN client software.

In the previous exercise, you installed and configured VPN services on Windows Server 2012 R2. To validate the VPN settings that were set up on the server, you will create a VPN client connection on Windows 10.
