Internet protocol over Small Computer System Interface, or iSCSI, is a cost effective solution for expanding your system storage. This software-based storage expansion employs Internet Protocol (IP) as the medium to establish communication between devices. Newer versions of Windows operating system such as Windows Server 2008 and later support iSCSI service that can be installed separately. For the newer versions of Windows (like Windows 7, Server 2008, or higher), support the iSCSI initiators that act as a client to iSCSI servers.
