Introduction
The Plan for high availability solution for common scenarios module provides you with the instruction and server hardware to develop your hands on skills in the defined topics. This module includes the following exercises:
- Setup Redundancy for Intra-site Scenarios
- Plan for Shadow Redundancy and Transport Dumpster
- Plan for Redundancy for MX records
Exercise 1 - Setup Redundancy for Intra-site Transport
Exchange Server 2013 has built-in fault tolerant message delivery features that will ensure delivery of messages in an organization and even on the Internet. Assuming that all essential Exchange services are running, messages will be processed from the sender until it arrives at the inbox of the recipient.
In this exercise, you will perform tasks about setting redundancy of message transport in a single Exchange site.
Exercise 2 - Planning for Shadow Redundancy and Transport Dumpster
In this exercise, you will verify how to verify shadow redundancy is enabled on Mailbox servers.
Exercise 3 - Configuring Redundant MX Records
MX or mail exchanger records are required for SMTP servers facing the Internet to allow an organization to receive messages from the outside sources.
