The Perform Storage Upgrades and Configurations module provides you with the instruction and server hardware to develop your hands on skills in the defined topics. This module includes the following exercises:
- Manage advanced VMFS Datastore configuration
- Setup and configure Storage Control
Exercise 1 - Manage Advanced VMFS Datastore Configurations
Virtual Machine File System, VMFS for short, is a cluster-based file system from VMware. VMFS enables virtualization to scale beyond the boundaries of a single system. Using vCenter you can perform a number of advanced tasks for managing VMFS and NFS configuration. This exercise will only focus on the VMFS tasks.
Exercise 2 - Setup and Configure Storage Control
You can define the storage I/O control by assigning specific amount of shares to a virtual machine. Higher the shares allow more concurrent I/O at the datastore level.
