Exercise 1 - Customizing the Windows 10 Start Menu
The Start menu gives the user complete access to all Windows 10 applications and features when working on a computer whether on a home network or corporate environment.
Should a user require a simpler and manageable interface, Windows 10 provides the ability to modify the desktop environment based on personal or corporate requirements. With its revamped user interface, system settings on accessibility options and power options can be modified based on different devices like desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smart phones and so on.
In this exercise, you will customize the Windows 10 Start menu.
Exercise 2 - Customizing Windows 10 Appearance
Dependent on the user preference or corporate desktop policy, you can customize the Windows 10 desktop settings to apply changes on desktop background, set color schemes, lock screen, and themes.
In this exercise, you will modify the Windows 10 appearance with respect to lock screen feature and desktop background.
Exercise 3 - Customizing the Taskbar in Windows 10
The taskbar provides convenience to end-users as it gives quick access to applications used regularly. You can customize the Windows 10 taskbar based on user’s requirements and preferences.
The following options in the taskbar can be customized such as:
-Toolbars: You can access various toolbars such as Address, Links and Desktop from the taskbar. -Search: You can display the Search box on the taskbar. -Show touch keyboard button: This option will display the touch keyboard button on the taskbar. -Lock the taskbar: This option will lock the taskbar until you unlock it. In this exercise, you will configure and customize the Windows 10 taskbar
Exercise 4 - Managing the Action Center in Windows 10
The Action Center in Windows 10 is an application in the system tray where system notifications are advertised as a reminder to an end-user or system administrator about on-going operating system activities within Windows.
The Action Center appears as a callout icon and provides an at-a-glance view of system settings such as Tablet mode, Connect, Note, All Settings, VPN, Quiet hours, Location among others. Clicking on the All Settings button provides quick access to the Settings of Windows which you can modify based on user preferences or system requirements.
In this exercise, you will use and configure notification center in Windows 10.
Exercise 5 - Managing Accessibility Options
Windows 10 provides accessibility options to make the desktop operating system available and easily accessible for everyone. You can use and configure accessibility options from Ease of Access Center. There are seven groups of accessibility related settings in Ease of Access Center. They are Narrator, Magnifier, High contrast, Closed captions, Keyboard, Mouse and Other options.
In this exercise, you will configure accessibility options in Windows 10.
