Exercise 1 - Working with RBAC
The Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) is a data access control mechanism. This mechanism helps the administrators to grant permissions to users based on their organizational roles. In other words, users can access only the permitted data according to their roles. For example, in an organization, a junior level employee cannot access the data of managers or administrators.
RBAC increases data security and prevents data breach, corruption, and leakage. RBAC is used in Exchange Server to assign permissions to users at different levels. The concept of management role groups and management role assignment policies facilitates the implementation of RBAC in Exchange Server.
In this exercise, you will learn how to work with RBAC by performing the following tasks:
- Task 1 - Create a role group
- Task 2 - Create a role
- Task 3 - Manage role group members
- Task 4 - Create and edit role assignment policies
- Task 5 - Assign role assignment policies to mailboxes
- Task 6 - Remove role assignment policies
After completing this exercise, you will be able to:
- Manage RBAC
