The Implement an Advanced DNS Solution module provides you with the instruction and server hardware to develop your hands on skills in the defined topics. This module includes the following exercises:
- Configure security for DNS using DNSSec
- Configure DNS Socket Pool
- Configure DNS cache locking
- Configure a GlobalName Zone
Exercise 1 - Configure security for DNS using DNSSec
DNS Security is a set of specifications in TCP/IP that provides security on resource records given by DNS Server to DNS clients or resolvers. This feature provides authentication of DNS data and integrity.
Exercise 2 - Configure DNS Socket Pool
DNS socket pool provides source port (TCP or UDP) randomisation when issuing DNS queries. This feature protects your DNS server from cache poisoning attacks that may come from a variety of sources.
Exercise 3 - Configure DNS cache locking
DNS cache locking feature allows you control whether or not the DNS cache information can be overwritten.
Exercise 4 - Configure a GlobalName Zone
DNS server supports the use of single names on a network. The GlobalName zone streamlines the task of migrating a network that needs to locate computers by just using a single name without relying on Windows Internet Name Service.
