- 1.12: Given a scenario, use features, and tools of the Mac OS and Linux client/desktop operating systems.

It will take approximately 1 hour to complete this lab.
Exercise 1 - Basic Linux Commands
Linux commands are used for carrying out various operations in Linux and similar operating systems. Linux commands are executed by using the Terminal. The Terminal is a command prompt equivalent of Linux and is called bash. Linux commands can perform the following tasks along with many others:
- Shutdown, and Restart
- Copy files, file data, and directories
- Create a new user account
- Terminate an on-going process

- Execute basic Linux commands
Exercise 2 - Best Practices
Data may get lost due to various reasons. Hence, it is necessary to follow certain practices which make the data recovery possible. A set of activities must be performed to ensure data availability is maintained all the time. This set includes:
- Disk maintenance
- Data backup
- Update installation
Best practices are ways of performing these activities in the best possible manner from the data availability point of view.

After completing this exercise, you will be able to:
- Follow the best practices
Exercise 3 - Tools
Data could be lost. Human errors, malware attacks, and system failures are possible causes for loss of data and so data backed up regularly. When data is lost, the backup copy can be used to restore it back. This backup and recovery process can be categorized into three steps:
- Creating a backup
- Storing backup in a safe location
- Using the backup data to retrieve the lost data
Various tools are available for performing backup and recovery. Tools make it easy to create a copy, provide the necessary functionality to store and deploy the required backup.
