The Design and Implement User State Migration module provides you with the instruction and Server hardware to develop your hands on skills. This module includes the following exercises:
- User State Migration Tool
- Using Hardlinks to save USMT data
- Create USMT Package in SCCM 2012
Exercise 1 - User State Migration Tool
In this exercise, you will transfer user data and settings using User State Migration Tool (USMT) which is available in Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit - WADK.
Exercise 2 - Using Hardlinks for USMT Data
In the previous exercise, you used a remote storage (a shared folder) to store and save user profiles that were collected by scanstate.
In this lab, you will save the user profiles in the local computer.
Exercise 3 - Create a USMT Package in SCCM 2012
In this exercise, you will create a USMT package using System Centre Configuration Manager 2012.
