Overview

Introduction

The Configuring Network Connectivity module provides you with the instruction and computer hardware to develop your hands on skills. This module includes the following exercises:

  • Configuring IPv4 and IPv6 Network Settings
  • Windows Firewall Settings
  • Configuring Remote Management
  • Authentication and Authorization

Exercise 1 - Configuring IPv4 and IPv6 Network Settings

In this exercise, you will perform the tasks required to configure both Internet Protocol version 4 and version 6 (IPv4/IPv6) on Windows 7.

Exercise 2 - Windows Firewall Settings

In this exercise, you will perform the tasks required to configure the Windows firewall on a Windows 7 PC.

Exercise 3 - Configuring Remote Management

In this exercise, you will perform the tasks required to configure remote management of Windows Servers using a Windows 7 PC.

Exercise 4 - Authentication and Authorization

In this exercise, you will take a look at configuring authentication exceptions in Windows Firewall with Advanced Security. When creating this firewall rule, you can prevent network connectivity between computers based on their computer names.

You will likewise create an IPsec policy to ensure privacy to network communications traffic by encrypting packets of data as they traverse through a network.
