Exercise 1 - Working with MRM
Huge volumes of emails are received and sent on a daily basis at an organizational level. As an administrator, it is very important to manage the inflow and outflow of critical, sensitive, malicious, junk, and priority emails. The Messaging Records Management (MRM) technology helps to manage the lifecycle of emails. This technology helps you to retain emails for a specific period of time, remove them when not required, or archive them to certain folders. Clearing of unwanted emails from user mailboxes increases the server storage space and processing speed.
You can implement MRM with the help of retention tags and retention policies in Exchange Server.
In this exercise, you will learn how to work with MRM by performing the following tasks:
- Task 1 - Create a retention tag
- Task 2 - Create a retention policy
- Task 3 - Assign retention policies to mailboxes
- Task 4 - Manage retention policies and retention tags
Learning Outcomes
After completing this exercise, you will be able to:
- Configure MRM.
