The Configuring Devices and Application Compatibility module provides you with the instruction and computer hardware to develop your hands on skills. This module includes the following exercises:

  • Configuring Devices
  • Configuring Application Compatibility

Exercise 1 - Configuring Devices

In this exercise, you will perform the tasks required to configure hardware drivers and Windows applications compatibilities.

Exercise 2 - Configuring Application Compatibility

Whenever a new Windows operating system is released, one of the usual concerns of system administrators is how to make their legacy applications compatible with the new version of Windows. Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT) is one of the tools that allows you to set compatibility options so that old programs can still function in Windows. Please note that ACT will not solve all program incompatibilities. If the program continues to have compatibility issues you need to contact the software vendor or your development team for additional support.

In this exercise, you will learn how to enable application compatibility using ACT.
