Exercise 1 - Creating and Configuring Receive and Send Connectors

There are different types of connectors in Exchange Server that control the flow of incoming and outgoing emails. Receive connectors and send connectors are among them. A receive connector controls the flow of incoming emails. Receive connectors are created by default on the installation of Exchange Server. The existing receive connectors are enabled and protocol logging is disabled by default. As an administrator, you can create new receive connectors and configure them.

A send connector controls the flow of outgoing emails. There are no default send connectors created on the installation of Exchange Server. You need to create new send connectors and configure them.

In this exercise, you will learn how to create and configure receive and send connectors by performing the following tasks:

  • Task 1 - Create receive connectors
  • Task 2 - Configure receive connectors
  • Task 3 - Create send connectors
  • Task 4 - Configure send connectors
  • Task 5 - Configure protocol logging
