Exercise 1 - Working with DLP Policies
In organizational networks, sufficient provisions must be made to ensure that users do not transfer critical, confidential, and sensitive data out of the company domain. The leakage or loss of important data can lead to fatal security threat issues. The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technique helps to prevent the leakage of data. As an administrator, you can use the DLP technique to control the amount and type of data users can send or receive in a corporate network.
In Exchange Server, you can implement the DLP technique with the help of DLP policies. A DLP policy is a set of rules or conditions that define the scope of sensitive data transfer mechanism. There are built-in DLP policy templates that can be used to create DLP policies for the protection of sensitive data. You can also create a custom DLP policy and define new rules for the policy. If the users violate the policy rules during email communication, the violation can be notified to them through Policy Tips.
In this exercise, you will learn how to work with DLP Policies by performing the following tasks:
- Task 1 - Create a DLP policy from a template
- Task 2 - Edit a DLP policy
- Task 3 - Create a custom DLP policy
- Task 4 - Manage Policy Tips
- Task 5 - Delete a DLP policy
