Introduction
The Configure Distributed Switch Policies module provides you with the instructions and devices to develop your hands on skills in the following topics.
- Configure advanced policies/features for dvPortGroups
Exercise 1 - Configure Advanced Policies and Features for dvPortGroups
DvPort Groups, short for Distributed Virtual Port Groups, are port groups associated with a vSphere Distributed Switch (vDS). These groups specify port configuration options for each member port. DvPort Groups define the settings for the parameters including VLAN ID, traffic shaping parameters, port security, teaming and load balancing configuration, and other settings. These settings govern how a connection is made through the vDS to the Network. The configuration parameters are similar to those available with Port Groups on Standard Switches. In this exercise, you will create, configure, and then delete a dvPortGroup.
