It will take approximately 45 minutes to complete this lab.
Exercise 1 - Configure Start Menu Settings
Microsoft has brought back the Start menu in Windows 10 with more customizable features and live tiles. Start menu can be resized dynamically with a simple click and drag action. In addition, live tiles contain apps such as News and Weather which provide an at-a-glance view of current events and local weather conditions.
Windows provides two Start menu settings namely: global Start menu folder that applies to any Windows user that will log on to the computer. The other is the personal Start menu folder that can be customized by a user as needed.
In this exercise, you will view the contents of the global Start menu and make modifications to a folder called Startup. You will likewise learn how to manage the personal Start menu folder of a user account.
Exercise 2 - Customize Task Bar, Toolbars and Notifications
Windows 10 gives the user the flexibility to customize settings on the taskbar, create custom toolbars and turn on system notifications as required on their respective computers.
In this exercise, you will learn how to edit an exported Start layout XML file and customize the file to include pinned apps on the Windows taskbar.
