Overview

Data Recovery with Autopsy is a Cybrary Lab intended for students of Intermediate level. Data Recovery with Autopsy teaches how to create a forensically sound duplicate of the evidence, review forensic images and recovering data from the image, this lab is targeted toward Cyber Defense Forensics Analyst work role.

The Autopsy platform is widely used by Incident Response and Computational Forensic professionals, in this CybrScore’s lab students will have initial contact with the platform through a detailed and objective laboratory. Upon successful completion of Data Recovery with Autopsy, the student will be able to: process a previously acquired image and verify its integrity using hashes, create a case on the platform, navigate through the tool, identify and extract data from the image. Data Recovery with Autopsy takes 30 minutes to complete.

The abilities learned in this lab are critical to the work of the forensic specialist as well as the handler incident. Ensures the original evidence is not unintentionally modified, to use for data recovery and analysis processes. Review forensic images and other data sources (e.g., volatile data) for recovery of potentially relevant information.
