The Q & A

Tell us about yourself

"I am a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with over 10 years of experience developing and building Lean Six Sigma programs for organizations. This means starting from the inception 'we want a Lean Six Sigma program' to successful completion of the first few large projects and getting their Lean Six Sigma team trained. In addition to Lean Six Sigma work, I have also worked as a data analytics team manager, senior-level operations leader and consulting managing director implementing organization-wide projects and changes.I started my career in business administration and efficiency because I felt passionate about helping service organizations to be better stewards of their resources and stayed in this field because I am excited and energized by the balance of analytical and creative problem solving and solution identification. My professional passion is by blending theories and knowledge from multiple disciplines to develop robust solutions. Examples of this include my publications related to applying game theory economics to project team member selection and borrowing from other disciplines to determine what is the minimum data required to start a project."

What brought you to teaching on Cybrary:

"It is super awesome that Cybrary is making education available for everyone and who wouldn’t want to be able to access coursework whenever. That being said, business administration and efficiency are wonderfully complementary to IT mindsets. Being a systems thinker gives you an advantage in being able to identify value in organizations and I am thrilled to be able to share my knowledge!"

Tell us a little bit about your course:

"Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt covers the theory, philosophy, and basics of process improvement. After completing this course, you will be able to define defects and identify waste in your organization and be armed with tools to tackle these wastes. In addition to being able to address wastes and defects in your organization, you will have a detailed overview of what to expect as a project team member."

Your Experience in Cyber Security:

"Cybersecurity is what I have learned from my peers on Cybrary. Undergraduate degree from the University of Denver in Science and Technology, MBA in entrepreneurship from Syracuse University, currently working on a Doctorate in Business Administration where my research focus is on chaos and complexity in organizations, and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt."

Interests in Cyber Security:

"Everything! The whole industry fascinates me and I am excitedly learning as much as I can. There is so much and I am figuring out where to get started."
