Dear Cybrarians,

I’m writing this article after a while. Many of my friends asked me is hacking possible without having a desktop or laptop? I understood their frustration. So I decided to do a write-up on hacking with android applications. There are plenty of Android apps are available for you to use for hacking. So here I will introduce few of them for you from my experience.

1.Termux

Termux is a Linux emulator which runs on android without rooting. You can get it from play store and try your hacking skills. You can install scripts from GitHub and run on it. Some scripts may not work as it has a limit in packages. You can efficiently run sqlmap, nmap and several cool scripts in termux. Inorder to run scripts that need root access, your phone must be rooted.Don’t wait, try it now.

2.GNUROOT Debian

GnuROOT Debian doesn’t require root access. It similar to termux, you can install scripts and run them by providing Debian Linux environment. Just try this along termux and choose one that fits you.

3.zANTI

“zANTI is a penetration testing toolkit developed by Zimperium Mobile Security for security professionals. You have to connect to the wifi network to begin this application. You can perform various attacks on a client that connected to the access point. You can check target for SSL poodle and Shellshock vulnerabilities. You can scan the targets for open ports. You can download this application from zimperium.com.”

4.Network Mapper

Network Mapper is similar to nmap on pc. The best part is it works on both rooted and nonrooted devices. Enter the target IP/iprange and enter the scan button, you will get the information like ports, service version, etc. You can choose scan type from the dropdown list on the left side.

5. AndroRAT

This is an old application but it is still gold. The Application helps you to remotely control the android devices, so you can spy on their phone by having their information like contacts, call logs, messages, and location. The application lets you do some magic work such as remotely monitor the phone, making a phone call and sending messages, using camera etc.

The complete list is shown below:

6.FaceNiff

7.cSploit

8.Fing

9.DroidSqli

10.Usbcleaver

That’s all for now. Thank you and happy hunting.

  1. Thank you for writing about this subject. It is important for us to be able to implement our knowledge and use the skills we have learned regardless of which devices we may have on hand. I am always looking for new sources and tools to practice with as I learn hacking and keep current with various interfaces. This article was very helpful.
